Oahu - March 7, 2010 - Docked at 7:00 A.M.
This area has the white sands of Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor, which has the Arizona Memorial, a gleaming white monument built atop the U.S.S. Arizona, the final resting place for 1,102 brave Americans. The Ala Moana Shopping Center and Diamond Head ( an extinct volcano crater) are all attractions for this great "gathering place". Don went on a shore excursion to see the natural wonders of Oahu while I had lunch at the Hawaiian Yacht Club with a girl hood friend that I haven't seen in 57 years! She moved away from Dallas when we were in junior high school and we just reconnected 3 weeks ago. She lives on a boat in the Waikiki Harbor. It was fun to catch up with her.
The Academy Awards were broadcast live in the Starlite Club followed by a Pacific Sunset Sail-Away Party with Pacific Sunset Cocktails and Hawaiian Leis as we sail for Sydney, Australia.
Photos will recreate our time in Oahu.
